Former chancellor George Osborne will share in a record £70m payout for his investment banking work.
Osborne, who left the government in 2016, scored a bumper payday for the third year running at Mayfair firm Robey Warshaw, which he joined in 2021. He boosted turnover to £85.3m in the year until March 31.
Some £69.9m can be split between Osborne and three other founding partners, Sir Simon Robey, Simon Warshaw and Philip Apostolides.
The company does not pay salaries to its partners but rather gives them a portion of the profits. Robey pocketed £40.5m, leaving £30m to split between the other three partners. The £70m was more than double the £28m given in 2023.
