Former Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters appears to have found a new job, according to reports.
The Broncos parted ways with their senior coach in September following a dismal season that saw the 2023 finalists drop to 12th in the NRL standings.
The 57-year-old’s contract was due to expire in 2026, but it appeared Broncos bosses were keen to cut short his time at the club sooner than expected, following the mixed results the Brisbane side had posted during the 2024 season. .
Some were shocked by the decision to let Walters go, considering his stature as a club legend.
As a player, Walters made 237 appearances for the club and won five premierships.

Michael Maguire to return to broadcasting and join Fox League as a pundit
The Broncos club legend was sacked by club bosses in September after his team fell to 12th in the standings.
Walters will return to the network after providing expert coverage for Fox from 2017-2018.
He will join the likes of Michael Ennis, Greg Alexander and Mal Meninga at the station.
The former Brisbane coach was quickly replaced by Michael Maguire, who has been working hard with his players in pre-season to push his team up the NRL ladder.
Maguire has earned plaudits from some Broncos stars, including Reece Walsh, who claimed the new Brisbane boss had given him key advice.
Even after the former New South Wales coach told his players to target the Queensland star during Origin, Walsh didn’t hold it against the new coach.
‘Consistency is a big thing I’m chasing. “Madge (Maguire) loves coming here every day, doing her best and having a red-hot crack, and I think that’s something I want to incorporate into my game,” he said.
“You look at players like Payne (Haas), in every game he plays and in every training session. That’s something very important to me.”
He added: ‘There have been some really good, honest conversations. “These are the conversations you want to have to get better,” Walsh said.

Reece Walsh has praised Maguire for helping him grow and learn as a player.
‘It’s about growing as a person and as a player.
“I want to be that player that everyone wants to play with. Madge is driving that.
‘I have a lot of growth in me and that’s what’s exciting.
“I feel like in the position I’m in… it’s time for me to start taking on more of a leadership role.”
