A man has been rushed to hospital after an explosion believed to have been caused by a barbecue fire hit an apartment in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to Meredith Street, in Bankstown, on Thursday after a man in his 30s reportedly fell from a window of a block of units.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the man suffered severe burns to his arms, legs and face.

A man was rushed to hospital after an explosion believed to have been caused by a barbecue fire hit an apartment in western Sydney (pictured, New South Wales ambulance vehicles).

He treated the man at the scene and he was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted New South Wales Police for comment.
