Police are chasing a man and woman who missing Hawaiian Hannah Kobayashi sent money to via Venmo after she missed her flight to New York from LAX in a major twist to her disappearance, as her family fears the have been taken out of California.
Hannah, a 31-year-old aspiring photographer, disappeared from the streets of downtown Los Angeles after missing a connecting flight from her native Maui in Hawaii en route to New York City on November 8.
It’s unclear why she left LAX airport in Los Angeles and ventured into the city 15 miles away, but she texted a friend that she had had a “spiritual awakening” and was later seen in the company of a mystery man on November 11. .
His family revealed to the Sun that on November 9, the day after he arrived in New York, he made two payments using Venmo.
One went at 6:25 p.m. to a person named Verónica Almendarez for an unknown amount, and the payment description only shows a drawn bow and arrow emoji.
The second was made less than an hour later to someone named Jonathan Taylor, also for an undisclosed amount, and the description only said: “Reading.”
According to her sister Sydni Kobayashi, Hannah sent these payments to people whose names have not been recognized by the family.
His relationship with Hannah is currently unknown, but the missing woman’s family said the Los Angeles police are investigating the matter.

Hannah’s aunt Larie Pidgeon told the Sun: ‘We have been informed and so have the LAPD. It’s in your hands.
‘We are still focused on downtown Los Angeles. Even though it’s been 15 (days), we still have hope.”
Pidgeon admitted that she and her family fear she may have been taken out of California.
‘We are now also encouraging people across the country to be vigilant in case it has been taken outside of California.
“We are analyzing all possibilities: hotels, subways, buses and train stations.”
The circumstances surrounding Hannah’s disappearance are murky, made even more murky by the suicide of her father Ryan, who committed suicide and was found dead at the back of a parking lot near LAX on Sunday after flying in to search for his daughter.
He sent a series of creepy text messages to loved ones, claiming he had recently experienced a “spiritual awakening” after reuniting with his family in New York.
Kobayashi had flown from Hawaii to LAX on the same flight as her ex-boyfriend, who had booked tickets for the two before they broke up.
One of Hannah’s friends received strange text messages from Kobayashi’s phone, indicating that she may be in trouble.
Her family received strange text messages from her phone number, leading them to believe they were not sent by Hanna.
He continued to New York and is “cooperating with the police,” after a final mysterious text was sent from Hannah’s phone, talking about her having had a “spiritual awakening.”

At 2:43 he took a photograph and sent it to his aunt, before returning to the airport where he is believed to have spent the night.
In a separate YouTube video outside an event in Los Angeles on November 10, Hannah can be seen wearing the same outfit. She was spotted at a Nike event with LeBron James in Los Angeles, where she was wearing the same dark hoodie and headphones she wore to the airport, around 3:30 p.m.
His last post was shared on November 11. It is understood he was attending an event in Los Angeles at the time.

One of his text messages read: “Deep Hackers deleted my identity, stole all my funds and have had me in trouble since Friday.”
Kobayashi’s mother, Brandi Yee, also texted her asking if she made it to New York.

In a missing persons poster sent immediately afterward, police wrote: “Before she disappeared, (Kobayashi) sent a message on November 10, mentioning that she was feeling scared and that someone might be trying to steal her money and identity. The next day, November 11, Kobayashi was seen boarding a LAX Subway C line at the Aviation/Century station.
He boarded at 9:02 pm, before transferring to another train at the Rosa Parks station.
