Jetstar flight is forced to make an emergency landing after terrifying incident during take-off

Pilots aboard a Jetstar flight traveling to Phuket made a priority landing at Sydney Airport after reporting mechanical problems on board.

A Jetstar spokesperson confirmed that flight JQ27 landed safely at Sydney International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

“Our flight from Sydney to Phuket landed normally this afternoon after returning to Sydney due to a mechanical issue,” he said.

‘Our pilots requested a priority landing and emergency services attended the plane as a precaution.

“One of the plane’s 10 wheels was damaged during takeoff and our engineers are investigating the cause.”

The flight took off from Sydney around 3:20 pm, however, it landed back at the main airport around 5:00 pm after reporting the problem.

A Sydney Airport spokeswoman said the airport had returned to normal operations despite previous problems.

“Our main runway was closed for approximately 30 minutes to allow the aircraft to land, be towed to a gate and a runway inspection to be carried out,” he said.

‘Normal operations have resumed and although we do not expect any significant disruption, there may be some delays throughout the night.

“We would like to thank passengers for their patience and encourage them to check the status of their flight with their airline or via the Sydney Airport website.”
