Inside the event, Lucas met up with Mazz as they posed for photos together before their performance.

Mazz looked glamorous in a cream sequin dress, which she accessorized with a pair of gold earrings and a dazzling ring.

The spectacular display of his talent will be a true celebration of a British legend in an exciting and emotional theatrical event.

Matt has appeared in films such as Bridesmaids, Alice in Wonderland and Wonka, but told This Morning that landing a role in a Ridley Scott film was one of the biggest achievements of his career.

He previously told presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: “I’m in four scenes. Actually, I’m saying this, I haven’t seen the movie yet so I don’t know how many have arrived.

‘But I have traveled to Malta four times and I am the master of ceremonies at the grand coliseum.

‘But I’m not one of the main characters… ok, I’m the protagonist of the movie! However, it was amazing to be in a Ridley Scott movie.

“I’ve been in some big movies, but the scale of this one is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I didn’t even know if I’d get in.

Speaking about the audition process, Lucas added: “I had to record myself performing one of the battles and film myself in the apartment I was renting while they were remodeling my house.

“I think I did about 80 takes until I had one that I wasn’t too dissatisfied with.

“So I sent a couple of tapes and forgot about it, and then 10 days later I got an email saying that Sir Ridley Scott would like you to come and do it.”

The long-awaited sequel currently has a 73% critical approval rating (from 225 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Gladiator II ensemble also includes Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi and Connie Nielsen.
