Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will celebrate Christmas at their Montecito home, following reports that they have not been invited to the royal family’s annual festive gathering at Sandringham. According Nearest MagazineThe Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend the holidays with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, accompanied by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
The family reportedly plans to make the occasion even more special. “This could be his last Christmas at home,” a source told the publication. “So they’re going to spend it together this year to make it extra special.” The informant added“Meghan’s mother, Doria, will join them at their home in Montecito and make sure the children have a happy day, despite not being surrounded by family.”
The couple reportedly turned down an offer to celebrate the holiday with Princess Diana’s family, the Spencers, in Althorp. “They were also invited to spend Christmas with the Spencers in Althorp, but had to turn it down,” the source shared. There appears to have been no invitation from the royal family for Harry and Meghan to join them at Sandringham.
The source explained“No invitation has been extended to join the royal family at Sandringham this year. “Not surprising, since they were not expecting an invitation, and even if it had been offered, they would probably decline.” This marks yet another year of distancing between the Sussexes and the royal family during the holidays.
Despite this, Harry and Meghan are said to be focused on creating a memorable Christmas for their young children, emphasizing joy and togetherness at home. The decision to celebrate quietly in Montecito reflects the couple’s evolving relationship with their extended family and their commitment to prioritizing the happiness of their immediate family during the holiday season.
