Cher’s family are said to be at a loss as to what to do about her relationship with Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, with insiders claiming their repeated warnings have fallen on deaf ears.
The Believe singer, 78, has been dating the music director, 38, for the past two years, but her loved ones are increasingly concerned about the romance.
A source close to Cher’s son Chaz Bono, 55, has claimed the award-winning artist is blind to AE’s “true intentions” despite raising “one red flag after another.”
They added that fears were further heightened after Cher revealed in May that she is working on an album with AE.
“Cher’s family has given up trying to convince her that Alexander doesn’t have her best interests at heart,” an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.
“She claimed he wasn’t after her money, but now he’s literally getting paid a ton of money for this new album and she’s giving him creative control over it.”

The source added that further panic over the relationship arose when Cher revealed she was reportedly taking steps to amend her will to include AE.
They continued, “She hasn’t done this yet but is strongly considering it as she claims he is the love of her life.
‘And if her album is the last album she makes, it will undoubtedly be a huge success.
“If she succeeds, this will give AE all the winnings and he will be set for life. Huge red flag.”
Cher, who released a greatest hits compilation, Forever, earlier this year, opened up about a new album during an appearance on The Tonight Show to promote her recently released memoir, Cher, The Memoir: Part One.
Host Jimmy Fallon asked, “Could there be another album?” Would you like to do another one?’
Cher confirmed, “I’m about to.”
In June, Cher appeared to approve of AE’s feud with Travis Scott after they got into a physical altercation following the 2024 amfAR Cannes Gala.

“I’m proud of Alexander,” she wrote on Instagram after the incident. “He didn’t start the fight against two men… He finished it, I gotta love him.”
According to the source, Cher’s stance on the situation also raised concerns for her family.
“Her family became very concerned after she defended him when he got into this brawl with Travis Scott because she condoned his violence,” they said.
A representative for Cher denied any such concerns about her relationship.
Cher confirmed she was dating AE in November 2022 when she tweeted an Instagram post of the unlikely duo photographed holding hands at two Los Angeles hotspots.
The legendary singer shared the news on Twitter in a post that simply said “Alexander” next to a heart emoji.
When a fan asked if AE was her new man, she doubled down with two heart emojis, as well as the words “love knows no math.”
The following month, Cher talked about her hot new romance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The couple has been dating since November 2022 after meeting during Paris Fashion Week

On New Year’s Day, she showed off a diamond sparkler on her social media from AE, which some thought was an engagement ring.
Although Cher and AE seem to be doing well, things didn’t go so well in his previous relationship with Amber Rose, the mother of his four-year-old son Slash Electric.
After three years of dating, Amber ended their relationship in a scathing social media post that exposed his alleged infidelity.
The influential model wrote: ‘I’m tired of being cheated on and embarrassed behind the scenes.’
Cher has also suffered her share of heartbreak, which started with Chaz’s father, Sonny Bono, whom she met when she was just 16 and he was 27.
They married in 1964 and formed the band Sonny & Cher, which catapulted them both to superstardom.
Ten years later she filed for divorce.

In an interview with Parade Magazine, Cher said it was his infidelity that led to their downfall.

After her divorce from Sonny, who died in January 1998 when he hit a tree while skiing with family in South Dakota, Cher romanced some of Hollywood’s biggest heartthrobs.
Cher dated David Geffen from 1974 to 1975. He later came out as gay.
That same year, she dated Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band, with whom she shares son Elijah Blue Allman, 46.
The two were married for three years until their divorce in 1978.
Cher then dated Kiss rocker Gene Simmons for two years, followed by actor Val Kilmer – who was 14 years her junior – from 1982 to 1984.

Over the next few decades, the singer had a series of relationships with lesser-known men, including bagel store worker Rob Camilletti, former Hells Angel Tim Medvetz and television writer Ron Zimmerman, which ended in 2012.
After splitting with Ron, Cher remained single for ten years until falling for AE.
