The Watcher star, who is married to actor Billy Crudup, took to Instagram early Monday morning to share the heartbreaking news along with a gallery of images.

In two other shots, Naomi is seen celebrating her grandmother’s 100th birthday with family and friends.
Naomi offered sweet words as she paid tribute to her paternal grandmother.
“Our grandmother Watts lived to be 101 and a half years old,” Naomi began.

The sad news comes after Naomi lost another grandparent earlier this year.
In August, Naomi shared how her ‘nanna’ Nikki Roberts had died three weeks after suffering a stroke.
He also paid tribute to his ‘no-nonsense’ grandmother in a lengthy tribute.
She told how her grandmother lived to be 99 years old after suffering a stroke, achieving her goal of having one last party with all her family.
Sharing a photo of four generations of her family, Naomi praised her grandmother’s enduring legacy and admitted it is an emotional moment for her family.

“My darling Nanna has left this world, but her spirit will never leave us,” the Mulholland Drive star began the touching post.
‘I am truly blessed to have had the most wonderful relationship with her. She is a big part of who I am: her core values, her work ethic and her mischievous humor and her joie de vivre.’
“My mother and aunts are devastated today, but we know she had a great life,” Naomi continued.
‘She kept going because she loved her life and her family. She lived three more weeks after a massive stroke because, in beast mode, she showed us that when she was finally ready to “peg him, she would.”
‘I had one more goal to accomplish. His 99th birthday!! One more party. One more family reunion.

Ending the emotional post, Naomi praised Nikki for her humor and “no-nonsense attitude.”
“I will never forget his wicked laugh, his fighting spirit, his no-nonsense attitude, his no-waste policy,” he exclaimed.
‘I was removing mold from bread and cheese: ‘You don’t need an expiry date, that’s what the nose is for!’ May their stories and memories live on.’
The post received an outpouring of support, with her famous friends and fans sending their condolences.
Magnolia star Julianne Moore was quick to comment on the heartfelt post with: ‘I’m so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful person.’
Big screen icon Glenn Close also chimed in with a sweet sentiment.
“She is laughing with the angels,” he wrote. “How blessed your family is to have had her.”
Pulp Fiction star Rosanna Arquette sent her deepest condolences writing, “I’m so sorry for your loss, you are blessed to have guided your life and inspired you.”
