Tosh's Convenience Store's Two Powerball Winners Were Worth $38.3 Million Combined

The best places to buy Powerball tickets will be revealed as the jackpot grows to $100 million.

According to The Lott, only two kiosks have sold more than one winning Division I Powerball ticket in the last decade.

Tosh’s Convenience Store in Ayr, Queensland, and Vic Market Lotto in Melbourne have each sold two Division One winning tickets since November 1, 2014.

Combined earnings from Tosh’s Convenience Store total $38.3 million, while the two tickets sold at Vic Market Lotto total more than $26 million.

Nationally, 176 players have claimed more than $4.78 billion in Division I prize money. New South Wales leads with 66 winning tickets, followed by Victoria with 43 and Queensland with 38.

The biggest win in Powerball history came in South Australia, where one ticket won $150 million in May.

Lott spokeswoman Anna Hobdell said winners could come from anywhere, but some regions seemed to be luckier than others.

“My best advice for anyone who wants a chance to win this week’s $100 million jackpot is to get an entry before the draw closes at 7.30pm AEST on Thursday night,” he said.

‘For further inspiration, I can also reveal that PowerHit tickets, a unique ticket type, generated a quarter of all top division wins over the last decade.

“Nearly two-thirds of these winning Powerball entries have been QuickPicks, where the lottery terminal selects the numbers at random.”

For those looking to pick their own numbers, The Lott found that 17, 7, 9, 2 and 28 were the most frequently drawn numbers from the main barrel and 3 and 19 were the most frequently drawn Powerball numbers.

So far, three Australians have taken home $100 million each in Powerball winnings this year.

“Christmas is a time to dream big, and with $100 million up for grabs in the Powerball, those dreams could become a reality this holiday season and beyond,” Ms. Hobdell said.

The $100 million jackpot is the sixth largest in Australian Lotto history and entries will close at 7.30pm on November 28.
