It’s been more than four years since Prince Harry stepped down as a royal and bid farewell to London in favor of sunnier days in Montecito with his wife, Meghan Markle.
Although he was educated at Eton and taught to speak the king’s English, he appears to be losing his original accent now.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, previously expressed his joy at living in America with his children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, and described his life in America as “amazing”.
He even admitted that he “loves every day,” and added that he had thought about becoming a U.S. citizen, in an interview with Good Morning America in February.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, is from California and has remained in the state just an hour and a half drive from her hometown, Los Angeles.
Fans now believe Harry has adopted Meghan’s American accent and sayings, after a video of him getting a fake tattoo emerged earlier this week.
In the two-minute sketch with musician Jelly Roll, filmed at the East Side Ink tattoo parlor in New York, people pointed out that Cali has become cool now.

Fans now believe Harry has adopted Meghan’s American accent and sayings, after a video of him getting a fake tattoo (pictured) emerged earlier this week.
Another said: “It looks like Prince Harry is losing his British accent.”
In the clip, which was filmed to promote The Invictus Games, the Duke is seen saying the American term “Screw it, let’s do it” to Jelly Roll.
He then used several American gestures, calling the tattoo artist “dude” and saying, “That (tattoo) feels like a great man.”
The royal then exclaimed, ‘You put your name on my neck,’ raising his voice at the end of the sentence, which is what American speakers typically do.
He also seemed to say that the ink could be put on his ‘a**’, rather than using the English saying, which is ‘a***’.
Anthony Shuster, communications coach and accent specialist, told Telegraph: ‘You realize there’s a big difference between the way the King talks and the way these guys talk.’
It looks like Prince Harry (pictured with Meghan in September 2022) is becoming more Californian with the phrases he uses and his accent.

Speaking about Harry’s accent in the clip, he said: “It’s not exactly a stiff upper lip… There’s very little articulation.”
Shuster also watched another video of Prince Harry from 2004, during his gap year in which he spent eight weeks in Lesotho.
Harry can be heard saying: ‘Yes, it’s learning about the culture, isn’t it? A different country, not everyone knows it.’
The language expert said there is a lot of research on children from well-off backgrounds who stop talking to sound “less elegant.”
But it was in 2019 when the real change came after meeting Meghan Markle, Shuster says.
When he first introduced the word to baby Archie, Harry said, “Wow, he’s got some facial hair too.” Except their t’s became d’s, which made the “small” world sound like “liddle.”
Shuster told the outlet, “That’s something that’s distinctly American: letting the final ‘t’ soften into a ‘d.'”
Linguistics expert Jennifer Dorman said her vocabulary has become more Americanized since her big move in 2020.
Language expert Anthony Shuster said it was in 2019 when the real change came after meeting Meghan Markle.
In podcast recordings with his wife in 2021, Harry began peppering his speech with phrases including “amazing” and “you guys,” he noted.
“It could be that Prince Harry has started borrowing American phrases and words to fit in and be better understood by the American press,” he said. Cosmopolitan in 2021.
‘This might become so common that you use these words when speaking to both Brits and Americans.
“Or he may simply be imitating his wife: interacting closely with someone all the time can cause us to pick up his conversation habits.”
Commenting on his recent tattoo video, one fan said: ‘He’s learning American words. That’s good.’ Another chimed in and said: ‘American slang, a bit of an accent, love it!’

This comes after a language expert said in 2022 that Harry may have learned some Americanisms since moving to the United States with his wife Meghan and son Archie in 2020.
Former King’s College language specialist Tony Thorne said in his interview with US broadcaster NBC at the time that shades of an American accent could be heard in the Duke’s voice.
He said Prince Harry could be heard dropping his ‘T’s in some cases, even when talking about his home in Santa Barbara, California.
