Jake previously took to Instagram to explain that Charlotte was upstairs with her daughter, Alba, when a gang of masked raiders in balaclavas entered the house.

And on Friday, he gave an update, assuring worried fans that the former Geordie Shore star and her two-year-old son were “safe” and saying police were searching for the “nasty” intruders.

Jake wrote: ‘Thanks for all the messages, the girls and I are safe! Best of luck and let’s count our blessings tonight.

“The police are dealing with this now, so I hope they get some results and catch these nasty people.”

On Thursday, the businessman described how he had chased the four burglars out of the house but was unable to catch them and asked his followers to send any information.

Sharing a furious video on his Instagram, Jake fumed: ‘I can’t believe I’m saying this, but some bastards tried to rob my house with my two-year-old son and my partner who is almost eight months pregnant, armed with a machete.

‘One of them who was in the house at the top of the stairs had on a red balaclava. He’s the one who had the machete. My daughter is at home. My partner is at home.

Hours later, Charlotte took to her Instagram Stories to tell fans that she had been “rocking back and forth” for an hour in the morning trying to help the baby move.

She said: ‘When I say I’ve been on all fours rocking in the bathroom for an hour this morning trying to get the baby to move. That’s not a lying word. I was worried that someone might surprise us because the crew was at my house filming things for the show.

‘Now I’m pampering myself a little, I feel like the pain has disappeared a little. That was for your advice, so thank you. I’ve been lying in bed relaxing, which has been a blessing.’
