Celebrities from across the worlds of sport, film and music descended on the Las Vegas Strip on Friday night as Formula One took over Sin City.

Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and company toured the Nevada desert as they battled for pole position during qualifying.

They were watched by a host of celebrities including Rory McIlroy, singer-songwriter Adele and Olympic champion Noah Lyles.

Snoop Dogg and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay were also among the well-known names watching the action.

Snowboarding legend Shaun White took part in qualifying in Sin City, alongside his fiancée Nina Dobrev and other screen stars such as Jenny McCarthy and Jared Leto.

Many other celebrities are expected to appear ahead of Saturday’s race, including Brad Pitt, Beyoncé, Paul Mescal, Michael Phelps, Paris Hilton and Sylvester Stallone.

McIlroy was seen wearing headphones inside Alpine’s garage. The golf star is one of the big-name investors in the team, along with players like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.

Lyles, who won gold in the 100 meters at the Tokyo Olympics, was with the Ferrari team before qualifying.

“From the running track to the race track,” the team posted on social media, along with photos of Lyles and driver Charles Leclerc.

The dazzling Las Vegas showpiece is one of three American races on the Formula One calendar.

This year, races have already been held in Austin, the official United States Grand Prix, and in Miami.

It is the second year of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and another event on the Formula One calendar in the city is already scheduled for 2025.
