"Prince William reflects on stopping riding a motorcycle: 'I'm a father of three, I have to tone it down'"

Prince William couldn’t hide his joy as he hopped on a stationary motorcycle at the Virtual Production Studio at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland. The Prince of Wales, a long-time motorcycling fan, took a virtual ride through the Arizona desert, briefly rekindling a passion he left behind after becoming a father of three.

A video shared on Official Instagram of Kensington Palace The account captured the moment and showed William smiling as he settled into the seat. The caption celebrated the visit, highlighting the innovation and creativity fostered at the university. “An inspiring afternoon to meet the next generation of creatives and industry experts in @UlsterUni“They all drive Northern Ireland’s global reputation for excellence and innovation!” the post said.

He continued: “Celebrating the people, skills and facilities at the heart of Northern Ireland’s creative industries. Whether training the next generation of talent or paving the way for those who never imagined a creative career to learn the skills they need to thrive, courses like this at the University of Ulster are excellent.”

For William, the experience was a nostalgic nod to his youth, when riding a motorcycle was more than just a hobby. However, the Prince revealed in 2018 that he had to put his hobby on hold after starting a family with Kate Middleton. “I am a father of three children. “I have to tone it down,” he said at the time. While William’s devotion to his family has taken priority, he admitted he misses the camaraderie and excitement of the open road.

“I miss the big trips,” he shared. “For me, riding a bike was always about being with everyone else.” The virtual ride may not have had the roar of a real engine or the gust of wind, but it clearly brought a spark of joy to the future King. As he continues to balance royal duties with personal interests, moments like these offer a glimpse into Prince William’s playful and adventurous side, reminding everyone that even future monarchs deserve the chance to relive their cherished hobbies.
