The Monster of Avignon’s daughter screamed she would “die like a dog” after the rapist claimed he had never abused her, in her final statement at the trial that has shocked the world.
Dominique Pelicot admitted drugging his 50-year-old wife, Gisele, with powerful sedatives and inviting dozens of strangers he met online to rape her.
But this morning he continued to deny drugging his daughter Caroline when she was 20 and posing her half-naked on a bed in her lingerie and taking photographs of her, images that were found years later on his computer.
In his final statement, the 71-year-old said: “I would like to look my daughter straight in the eyes and tell her that I didn’t do anything (to her).”
However, in a fit of anger, his daughter Caroline Darian shouted: ‘I will never see you again!’ You will die alone like a dog!
When questioned by his lawyer Maître Zavarro, Pelicot maintained that he had not abused his daughter.
He said: ‘Even if she doesn’t love me anymore, I know what I did and I know what I didn’t do.
“Telling me to die like a dog doesn’t change my feelings for her.”
