Liverpool maintained their unbeaten start to the Champions League campaign after beating RB Leipzig 1-0 on Wednesday night.
The Reds took the three points from Red Bull Arena thanks to a first-half goal from Darwin Núñez, who finished from close range after a header from Mohamed Salah.
Arne Slot’s side were tested late on as Leipzig pushed for an equaliser, but the Reds remained determined to secure an important victory.
In doing so, they move alongside Aston Villa at the top of the Champions League table as they continue to impress under the Dutch manager.

He made a couple of great saves to rescue his team, especially in the second half when Leipzig’s pressure increased.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7
He entered midfield to disrupt attacks and fulfilled his defensive duties when called into action.
Ibrahima Konate – 7
An imposing presence in the Liverpool defense. I barely sniffed the dangerous Sesko all night.
Virgil van Dijk – 6.5
He didn’t attract as much attention as his central defense partner, but it was a typically strong performance from the Dutchman.
Kostas Tsimikas – 6.5
There were promising moments ahead and it was his cross that led to Nunez’s winning goal.
Ryan Gravenberch – 6
He struggled to dominate the midfield battle, but was still able to shut down Leipzig’s advances when necessary.
Caoimhin Kelleher made a series of impressive saves to keep a clean sheet that night.
Ibrahima Konate was an imposing presence in the Liverpool defense that night

He seemed a little off the pace as he continues his recovery from injury. Unfair warning for diving in the first half.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 5.5
He failed to leave a mark on his return to Leipzig. There were some bright moments in the first half but they faded as the match progressed.
Mohamed Salah – 5
A very quiet night by high Egyptian standards. He saw Núñez score his goal on the line before being hooked by Díaz.
Darwin Núñez – 7.5
A reminder of what he can contribute to this team. A handful all night and your goal will be a much-needed confidence boost.
