- Qantas flight from Perth forced to divert
- Plane made priority landing in Geraldton
A Qantas flight was forced to divert mid-journey due to a mechanical issue.
The plane had left Perth and was heading to the mining town of Paraburdoo when it had to make a priority landing in Geraldton on Monday.
“Our Perth to Paraburdoo service was diverted to Geraldton on Monday afternoon due to a mechanical issue,” a Qantas spokesperson said.
‘The flight landed safely and we will be taking passengers to Paraburdoo on other flights today.
“We appreciate that this has been an unsettling experience for our customers and we want to thank them for their patience and understanding.”
Emergency services waited for the aircraft on the runway as a precaution.
