An elderly woman and man have died in a four-car crash in Hobart.
Police believe a truck rear-ended a Holden Barina, which then collided with a Holden Commodore and a Honda HRV on the Bowen Bridge about 3.40pm on Friday.
Two passengers from the Barina died. They were around 80 years old.
The woman driving the Barina was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A woman and two children in the Commodore and the driver of the HRV were not seriously injured.
The truck driver was not injured and will undergo mandatory testing, as will the other drivers involved in the accident.
Police are investigating and will prepare a report for the coroner.
Inspector Jason Klug said: ‘Our thoughts are with everyone involved.
