George Clooney finally responded to Donald Trump's call for him to

George Clooney made Donald Trump quite the offer during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show on Tuesday.

He reacted live on air when Kimmel showed him Trump’s July post on Truth Social that, among other things, urged Clooney to “get out of politics and get back on TV” following the actor’s explosive New York Times op-ed calling for Joe Biden to step down.

“You know what? I’ll do it if he does it,” Clooney said, to thunderous applause from the studio audience.

Kimmel went a step further, asking Clooney, 63, if he had ever thought about writing another op-ed saying Trump should step down.

“Have you thought about writing an op-ed in the Times asking him to resign because it worked once? Why not try it again?” the liberal host joked.

Clooney only responded with a bit of sarcasm, saying: “He’s a big fan of mine.”

Clooney’s op-ed against the current president was one of many dominoes that fell in the Biden campaign’s downward spiral.

Other notable setbacks included Barack Obama privately saying Biden should “seriously consider” whether he should stay in the race and dozens of elected Democrats saying publicly and privately that the 81-year-old should step aside.

Clooney wrote The piece on July 10, nearly two weeks after Biden’s disastrous performance in the debate with Trump.

On the evening of July 21, Biden dropped out of the presidential race via a social media post before quickly endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him as the party’s nominee.

The former president did not hold back and lashed out at the two-time Oscar winner.

Kimmel asked Clooney, who has hosted fundraisers for Biden, if he thought his op-ed influenced the election in a significant way.

“He may have changed the world,” Kimmel said. “He had a huge impact on the presidential election, didn’t he?”

“No, I don’t know if that’s true,” Clooney said, before reiterating his previous praise for Biden for his “selfless act” in stepping down.

Kimmel also pointed out the potential damage Clooney was willing to inflict on Biden’s campaign if the president chose not to step down.

“What do you mean, Jimmy?” Clooney interrupted, smiling.

“I’m getting to the point, you took a great swing and thank God you got the ball out,” Kimmel said.

“It could have gone very badly. It still could go badly,” Clooney said, seemingly acknowledging the relatively close race between Harris and Trump.
