Christian McCaffrey’s status for Week 2 revealed – as he continues to battle calf injury and Achilles tendonitis

Christian McCaffrey has been ruled out for Week 2 of the NFL season and the San Francisco 49ers are reportedly considering placing him on injured reserve.

The NFL’s star running back missed the team’s Week 1 win over the Jets and was questionable for Week 2 as he continues to battle a calf injury and Achilles tendinitis.

His status has finally been confirmed, with head coach Kyle Shanahan confirming that he will not be able to travel to Minnesota on Sunday.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero has since reported that the 49ers are considering placing McCaffrey on injured reserve, which would mean he would be out this week and the next three games.
