Taylor Swift confirmed she plans to vote for Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election on Tuesday night, and fans couldn’t resist poking fun at Brittany Mahomes for the announcement.
Swift, who has endorsed outgoing Democratic leader Joe Biden on several occasions in the past, publicly backed Harris — her replacement in this year’s election — for president in an Instagram post following her televised debate with Donald Trump.
More than 3.2 million people liked the pop icon’s Instagram post in just over an hour after she confirmed: ‘I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.
He explained that the Vice President “fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend them.”
Swift’s support for Harris comes just weeks after her best friend Mahomes sparked controversy by liking one of Trump’s Instagram posts outlining his proposed policies if he regains control of the White House.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany has angered Taylor’s legion of die-hard “Swiftie” fans, given that their beloved singer has publicly condemned the Republican leader ahead of previous elections.
And after Swift officially voiced her support for Harris, fans took to social media to slam Mahomes for voting for his fellow Chiefs WAGs Democrats.
One shared a brutal WWE meme showing Taylor sneaking up and hitting Brittany with a chair in a wrestling ring and wrote: “The more I think about it, Taylor Swift f*cking Brittany Mahomes is a historical fact honestly. Congrats to everyone involved on her side for the timing on debate night.”
Another predicted Brittany’s reaction to Swift’s support for Harris with a meme of Mean Girls character Regina George cropping out photos of her and her best friend Cady Heron while furiously scribbling insults about her on a notepad.
A third posted alongside a gif of American television personality Tiffany Pollard joking that she is “comfy and sitting pretty” and wrote: “I know Brittany Mahomes is having a panic attack after Taylor Swift announced her support for Kamala.”
His announcement comes after Mahomes endorsed Donald Trump on Instagram last month.
Swift and Mahomes developed a close friendship last season when their teammates led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl.

Swift’s endorsement also comes less than a week after they sat in different luxury suites for the Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
