This is the terrifying moment a machete fight broke out in the middle of the street as bus passengers screamed in terror.
Three men were seen brandishing swords at each other on Clapham Road, near Stockwell tube station, on Friday afternoon.
Passengers on a passing bus filmed the fight as they screamed in shock as one of the men was chased into the Taste More fish and chip shop next to Pret A Manger.
As the scene unfolded, a bus passenger gasped and said, “Look at the knives.” Another added: “What’s wrong with them?”
Officers arrived at the scene three minutes after receiving a call about the fight at 1:56 p.m.
A 16-year-old boy was cut in the head, taken to hospital and later arrested in connection with the fight. His condition is not life-threatening.
Three men were seen brandishing machetes at each other on a street in Stockwell, London, on Friday afternoon.
A large police cordon (pictured) was set up with officers standing nearby after the fight took place.
The cordon extended beyond Stockwell tube station, along Clapham Road and Binfield Road and past Pret A Manger and Taste More.
It appeared that the two men dressed in black were fighting the third, who was wearing a turquoise blouse and light gray pants.
At least two of the men appeared to be wearing masks.
At the end of the footage, the man in turquoise appeared to have barricaded himself in the fish and chip shop.
The other two men were seen trying to open the door.
The London Ambulance Service said its paramedics were stood down and did not attend the scene.
However, police established a large cordon stretching beyond Stockwell tube station, along Clapham Road and Binfield Road and past Pret A Manger and Taste More.
Metropolitan Police Detective Chief Inspector Adam Seton, of the Southern Central Command Unit, told MailOnline: “This was a shocking and disturbing incident, which took place in a busy location in broad daylight.
The men were fighting in the street while passengers on a passing bus screamed in terror and gasped at the men’s knives.
The two men dressed in black appeared to chase a man in turquoise as he ran away from them.
They appeared to be trying to open the door of the Taste More fish and chip shop where the man in turquoise had taken refuge.
After the shocking fight, two police officers were seen outside Taste More, which was also cordoned off.
‘Many members of the public were present and it must have been extremely alarming and distressing for them. Police officers arrived at the scene within three minutes and quickly made an arrest.
