A female airline passenger has reignited the debate over airplane etiquette after expressing her anger at people leaning in to take photos from the windows.
Fanny Gagnon O’Donnell, who is from Montreal but currently works in Germany As an au pair, I was taking a three-hour flight back from a trip to Spain when his patience was tested by his seat neighbor.
In a clip uploaded to TikTok – which has since been viewed more than three million times – the Canadian covertly films the man next to her while constantly reaching out her phone to take photos from the window.
In the superimposed subtitles, she explains that she “I was confused at first,” but assumed it would be a “one-time thing” and “let him do his thing.”
However, the photo-taking antics continued and Fanny notices “there it is again” as her arm can be seen fully extended in front of her so she can get her best aerial view photos.

Fanny’s video quickly racked up hundreds of comments, with the vast majority of viewers on her side.
Some commentators said they would have closed the window blinds to give the man a clue.
Other onlookers said they would have taken a more direct approach and said something to him or “smacked his hand.”
One TikTok creator wrote in the comments section: “I would tell her that if she wanted unrestricted window access, she should have gotten a window seat. Personal space is not optional.”
Some commentators recounted similar situations.
However, one person revealed that his neighbor was more diplomatic in his approach.
She explained: ‘This happened to me once, except he was a very sweet old man who asked permission every time he wanted to take a photo.’

At the beginning of her TikTok, Fanny explains that she was initially excited to be in a window seat and even sent a selfie to her mother of her in the prime spot.
But her mood began to worsen when the man in the middle seat began to invade her space.
Fanny told Newsweek that after the man took some photos, she stared at him, but he didn’t get the message.
Recounting the chain of events from that point, she said: ‘I closed the window to indicate to him that it was over, but he seemed confused.
“A few minutes later he tapped me on the shoulder to tell me to open the window again. I felt bad and did it.”
