Fans were left baffled as they watched the NRL Hall of Fame ceremony on Wednesday.
  • Fans have shared their thoughts on the Hall of Fame ceremony.
  • A new Immortal will be inducted into the NRL tonight
  • But viewers were bothered by loud background noise in Sydney.

The NRL Hall of Fame ceremony got underway on Wednesday night, but it’s safe to say fans watching from home were distracted by one annoying detail during the illustrious awards show.

Eleven former players were inducted into the Men’s Hall of Fame in Sydney, including Sam Burgess, Cameron Smith and Les Boyd, while one legend will be elevated to Immortal status at the end of the night.

The football world gathered at the SCG for the gala event, where legends were inducted one by one over dinner.

However, fans took to social media in droves to complain that they couldn’t properly hear what was being said on stage, due to the clattering of cutlery and plates in the background.

“If the audio mixer were to try to amplify the plates, it would be a pretty impressive job,” one fan said on Reddit.

Another added: “Yeah, who’s banging plates in protest against all Queenslanders?”

“I wish the sound of silverware clanking against plates was louder,” another fan said sarcastically. “I really don’t want to hear my literal GOATS induction speech.”

“I hope they bugged the dishwasher,” said another.

“Is there a Greek wedding going on in the back of the hall?” asked one bewildered fan. “What’s going on?”

We will continue to report more.
