American star Cole Hocker came from behind to win a spectacular 1500m race at the Olympics, leaving 100m king Noah Lyles “screaming at the top of his lungs”.
Hocker made a late run down the stretch to beat Britain’s Josh Kerr in Paris, while American teammate Yared Nuguse took bronze in third place.
Following his victory, Lyles, who won gold in the men’s 100m at the weekend, took to social media to praise his compatriot and admitted the race had put him in extremely high spirits.
She wrote on X: ”That was an amazing 1500! Cole Hocker, you made me scream at the top of my lungs!”
