Angelina Jolie has claimed that Brad Pitt tried to get her to sign an $8.5 million non-disclosure agreement to “force her to keep quiet” about her abuse allegations against him.

Jolie, 49, filed for divorce from Pitt, 60, in September 2016 after a mysterious dispute on a private jet in the presence of their son Maddox, now 22.

Early in the proceedings, the FBI investigated allegations that Pitt had been “physical” with Maddox on the plane, but the investigation was closed without any charges being filed.

However, in court documents filed in April, Jolie accused Pitt of abusing her “long before” the plane ride.

Now, in the course of the ongoing legal battle over her winery in the south of France, Jolie has repeated the allegation of abuse, in a new filing obtained by People.

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Pitt and Jolie for comment.

Angelina Jolie has claimed that Brad Pitt tried to get her to sign an $8.5 million non-disclosure agreement to “force her to keep quiet” about her abuse allegations against him.

Jolie and Pitt first purchased the winery, Chateau Miraval, in 2008, when they had been romantically involved for years but were not yet married.

The property dispute stems from the fact that Jolie sold her half to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler for $62 million in 2021, amid their divorce proceedings.

Pitt sued her over the sale, insisting that she was contractually obligated to obtain his consent before selling her share of Chateau Miraval.

Amid the collapse of their marriage, Pitt and Jolie also became embroiled in a rancorous custody battle over their six children, four of whom are now adults.

They have three biological children: Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, and also adopted Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19.

Jolie filed her final legal document in the winery case in Los Angeles County Superior Court on July 25, addressing both the custody battle and the abuse allegations.

Her legal team insisted that when she sold her half of Chateau Miraval, she was “not acting with malice or intent to harm Pitt in response to any custody ruling.”

The documents stated: ‘Instead, it was Pitt who refused to buy out her unless he received her new, expanded confidentiality agreement, enforceable through an $8.5 million hold specifically designed to compel her to remain silent about his abuse and cover-up.’

His lawyers added: “While Pitt is making what is effectively an outdated domestic violence privacy argument to protect his abuse, his argument is not the law, at least not in this century, and he cites no authority that would grant him such unwarranted protections. In any event, he waived any privacy protections when he sued Jolie.”

Jolie’s team has previously argued that Pitt should be forced to hand over his personal communications as part of discovery in the winery case.

Pitt has responded to the “wide-ranging” and “intrusive” lawsuit, with his lawyers claiming Jolie wanted access to information “on such sensitive topics as the therapy she voluntarily undertook” after the plane trip.

However, he said he was prepared to provide “sufficient documents to prove everything that happened on the flight.”

In legal documents filed on July 15, Pitt’s team accused Jolie of trying to “turn this business dispute into a re-litigation of the former couple’s divorce case.”

They argued that Pitt’s “private third-party communications” from the 2016 plane trip were not relevant to Chateau Miraval’s lawsuit.

However, in their court filing last week, Jolie’s team remained steadfast in their insistence that Pitt should produce communications relevant to his abuse allegations.

“Jolie has no desire to litigate these issues and for years never spoke publicly about them,” the legal documents state. “Rather than appreciating her discretion, Pitt sought to bind and enforce her contractually.”

They added: “Since she refused, he seeks to punish her, demanding $67 million plus punitive damages. In doing so, Pitt called her conduct into question. While Jolie sincerely wishes for Pitt to end this litigation and finally put his family on a clear path to healing, that cannot happen while Pitt relentlessly pursues her.”

In May, a judge ordered Jolie to hand over “all confidentiality agreements to which she is a party,” complying with a request made by Pitt’s team in legal documents obtained by DailyMail.com.

Jolie previously claimed she refused to sell her half of Chateau Miraval to Pitt because the confidentiality agreement he had insisted on as a condition was “controlling and punishing.”

But Pitt’s lawyers responded that his objection to the confidentiality agreement was a “pure pretext” for the sale to Shefler, whose business empire includes Stolichnaya vodka.

They argued that it was normal for public figures to seek confidentiality agreements, saying Jolie had also used such a measure in the past.

“For example, less than six months after the sale to Stoli, Jolie’s counsel proposed to Pitt an even broader non-disparagement clause in connection with the couple’s divorce settlement, and Jolie signed or requested comparable confidentiality agreements from others,” Pitt’s attorneys said in a legal filing in May.

Pitt’s team requested that Jolie be ordered to hand over all of her nondisclosure agreements, as well as other related documents, and a judge granted the motion.

He is allegedly still estranged from his children, to the point that this May, after turning 18, Shiloh requested to change her last name from Jolie-Pitt to simply Jolie.

Meanwhile, Pax recently suffered a terrible accident when he crashed his motorcycle into a car in Los Angeles without wearing a helmet.

Sources told DailyMail.com that Jolie was “by his side in the hospital” while “Brad is distraught and worried about Pax’s accident but is unable to communicate with him.”

The crash came four years after Pax unleashed an explosive rant on social media in which he called his father “a world-class jerk” and a “terrible, despicable person” who had made his four youngest children “tremble with fear.”
