McDonald’s fans left outraged after TikTok revealed ‘disgusting secret’ about the ice cream machine

TikTok user and McDonald's employee tel2raww posted a video on the social media platform last week showing them pouring chunky milk into an ice cream machine.

McDonald’s customers were horrified to see an employee allegedly pouring expired milk into one of its ice cream machines.

TikTok user tel2raww posted a video Last week, images of them allegedly pouring lumpy milk into a McDonald’s machine were posted on the social media platform.

The TikTok user claimed in the video that his general manager told him to pour the expired dairy product inside. McDonald’s has been contacted for comment.

The spoiled milk came from a jug of low-fat milk with 1% fat, which the fast food chain sells in all of its restaurants.

Although the TikToker claimed that his manager talked about “saving money,” commenters who claimed to be McDonald’s employees strongly disagreed with this idea.

The McDonald’s machine used for milkshakes and ice cream is a typical item found in their fast food locations.

Instead of expired milk, employees pour the liquid from bags containing ingredients to make milkshakes and ice cream.

The base of the bag is low-fat vanilla ice cream, followed by milk, cream, corn syrup and other additives.

McDonald’s employees who are assigned the task of changing the milkshake machine must pour the bag of mix into it and be able to see the top of the machine while doing so.

Because of its size, employees adding the mix to the ice cream machine can usually pour out the entire bag.

Employees can also choose to test the machine with milkshakes and ice cream before a manager gives the go-ahead to serve it to customers.

TikTok users who claim to work at McDonald’s have either taken issue with the unhygienic money-saving method, explained the correct way to take care of an ice cream machine, or revealed that they, too, have done it on orders from management.

“I’ve been working at McDonald’s for almost three years and I didn’t know about this until my boss told me a while back. They do this so they don’t waste product and money,” one alleged employee wrote.

Another person wrote: “This can kill people! There is something called a dairy gas allergy, and this gas comes from expired milk, which is also a dairy acid allergy, which again comes from expired milk. This is crazy.”

Other TikTokers who claimed to be employees at places like Subway and Dunkin Donuts shared their horror stories of their medications expiring while on the job.

“Dominoes does this too! Obviously not with milk, but with expired food we still use them,” wrote one TikTok user.

One TikTok user was apparently angry, not at McDonald’s, but at the video’s creator.

“The fact that you listened and actually did it is the wildest part. Instead of posting it, go to the damn health department and report them,” one commenter wrote.

The Daily Mail has contacted McDonald’s for comment.
