Armie Hammer’s mother has broken her silence on the cannibalism and abuse allegations that ended her son’s career.

The 37-year-old Call Me By Your Name actor, who was at the height of his fame, fell from grace when several women made a series of disturbing allegations against him, accusing him of violent abuse and harbouring cannibalism fantasies.

In February 2021, his ex-girlfriend, Effie Angelova, 26, accused him of raping and “violently” abusing her in 2017. He denied the rape allegations through his lawyer and said all of their sexual encounters were “completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance and mutually participatory.”

Dru Hammer, who just published her revealing book Hammered, told… TMZ‘I was very careful throughout the entire ordeal because my own son did not come out to defend himself.

‘At that time I had a pastor who said that if you stood up for yourself, that was the only defense you would have, so we believe that God is our defense and now the truth is coming out.

Dru Hammer, who is set to release her tell-all book Hammered, told TMZ:

Dru Hammer, who is set to release her tell-all book Hammered, told TMZ: “I was very careful throughout the whole experience because my own son didn’t come forward to defend himself.”

Referring to her son’s recent interviews with Bill Maher and Piers Morgan, she said: “He didn’t commit a crime, he committed a moral crime, but it changed his life forever and he’s sober and happier than ever.”

“And to return to God and that is the most important thing for me.”

She said things were looking “really good” for Armie now and that he was ready to return to Hollywood.

Dru added that she detailed her son’s scandal in her new book and that he signed it without any edits, adding: “I wouldn’t change a thing, I’m really proud of you, Mom.”

Hammer recently confirmed ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze’s allegation that he once “marked” her with a knife, but claims it was “more of a scratch” or “tattoo.”

The actor made the admission in a new interview with Piers Morgan while seemingly attempting to downplay Lorenze’s disturbing version of events.

At the height of Hammer’s cannibalism and abuse scandal in 2021, Lorenze came out to accuse him of “branding and scarring” her during their “traumatic” four-month relationship in 2020.

The Dairy Boy founder claimed at the time to DailyMail.com that Hammer had carved his initial into her groin with a knife and licked the blood from the wound during a kinky sexual encounter that spiralled out of control.

Referring to his son's recent interviews with Bill Maher and Piers Morgan, he said:

But Hammer told Morgan on Thursday, according to Page sixwhich did not technically “mark” Lorenze and no blood was ever drawn.

“I wouldn’t say mark, no,” Hammer said. “There was a scenario that we talked about beforehand, that we had discussed where, you know, I would basically take a tiny little tip and just trace the letter ‘A,’ like the tip of a little knife.”

He continued: “There wasn’t even any blood on the spot. It was more like a scratch… It’s kind of like when couples get their initials tattooed on each other.”

Morgan noted that touching someone’s skin with a knife is “a little different than giving them a tattoo.”

“It’s less permanent. I guarantee you it was a very minor thing,” Hammer replied.

After Morgan admitted he was “shocked” by the whole thing, Hammer tried to portray it as a “romantic gesture.”

“Yes, I think some people will find it very strange. Others will find it a very romantic gesture,” he explained.

She also insisted that she had nothing to “gain” by “having a sexual experience that my partner did not appreciate or enjoy.”

“That was a huge feeling of validation for me, too, to make this person I’m with feel good, to make this person I’m with, I don’t know if I can say this, climax,” Hammer explained to Morgan.

‘They were things that made me feel good and powerful, things I desperately needed because I didn’t know how to give them to myself.’

Lorenze shared an image of her “A” scar with DailyMail exclusively in 2021 as she detailed their four-month romance.

Last month, Hammer revealed he’s grateful for the shocking allegations of cannibalism and abuse that derailed his once-stellar Hollywood acting career.

Speaking on the Painful Lessons podcast, the actor said of the scandal: ‘Whatever people have said, whatever has happened, I’m at a point in my life now where I’m grateful for every part of it.

‘I’m actually in a place now where I’m actually grateful for it, because where I was in my life before all those things happened to me, I didn’t feel good, I never felt fulfilled, I never had enough, I was never in a place where I was happy with myself, where I had self-esteem.

“I never knew how to give myself love. I never knew how to give myself self-validation, but I had this job where I could receive it from so many people that I never had to learn how to give it to myself.”

On being accused of cannibalism (the actor reportedly said he was “100% cannibal” in 2021 text messages), he added: “People were calling me a cannibal. Like I eat people! What? You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people!”

He added of his downfall: “It was the death of my ego, the death of my career. A neutron bomb exploded in my life. It ended everything.”

His then-wife Chambers split from him in July 2020 – the former couple share two young children.

Hammer was told that

Hammer was told he “had issues” but “it’s not what people say” in a psychiatric evaluation report, after allegations of cannibalism and abuse imploded his career in 2021.

The star said she had contemplated suicide during that period, saying: “There were many times when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore. I was getting hate… so I just did it… there was a moment

‘I was standing on the shore and I swam really far away and just laid there… a half-hearted suicide attempt… But I thought I couldn’t do that to my kids.’

He admitted that his Hollywood career is “not moving forward right now” and said he is “creating his own sandbox” and plans to write a script.
