A P-plater has been captured on extraordinary dash cam footage in a tense exchange with another driver who was much larger than him.

Footage shows the man in high visibility at the wheel of a van with green P plates driving in Milperra, in Sydney’s southwest, last week.

He appeared to become increasingly frustrated with the driver of a smaller white car in front of him and began driving erratically and dangerously near the rear of the car.

Tensions rose when traffic was stopped at a red light.

The furious P-plater jumped out of the van to approach the other driver outside the frame.

The dash cam owner continued his route, revealing that the driver of the van had come face to face with the other motorist, who towered over him.

The images, posted on Facebook by Dash Cam Owners Australiashowed the van driver being pushed back by a larger man before bravely striking back.

It is still unknown how the confrontation concluded, as the pair disappeared out of frame when the dash cam owner left, much to the chagrin of onlookers.

‘How much do you think little friend regretted his decision when he saw the guy he decided to road rage?’ the dash cam was captioned

The footage has since gone viral with nearly 1,000 comments.

“The (Dashcam) driver was at fault because he took off when the light turned green instead of staying still to record the rest of that encounter for us,” one viewer commented.

Another joked: “It’s very selfish of you to walk away while we try to watch.”

Some were amused and surprised that the van driver had provoked a confrontation with someone much larger than him.

“That was like watching a Jack Russell try to fight a Great Dane,” one joked.

Another added: ‘He’s jumping just to catch it… Let’s give him some points for the effort.

Others were simply surprised by the sheer size of the other driver, with one noting that the dash cam would need a “fisheye lens to fit the whole guy in the frame.”
