All citybound lanes of a major Melbourne highway have been closed following a serious crash.
The collision occurred shortly before 7am on Wednesday on the Monash Highway in Dandenong North.
Traffic has been backed up for kilometers up the South Gippsland Highway as commuters head to work, with all city-bound lanes closed between the EastLink Road exit and Wellington Road.
A serious accident on Melbourne’s Monash Freeway caused chaos among drivers heading to work on Wednesday morning.
Motorists have been told to expect delays of around 50 minutes, with travelers urged to use the Princes Highway or Wellington Road.
It is unknown if anyone was injured in the collision.
