Tragedy struck an Arizona family when their four-year-old daughter was killed in a horrific accident while returning home from a swimming class after a speeding drunk driver crashed into their family’s car.

Lily Moster died on June 6, one day after the devastating collision in Queen Creek, Arizona.

She was in her family’s minivan at a stop sign when another driver rear-ended her and was going nearly 60 mph, police said.

The accident left his father Daniel and brother Luke, six, with minor injuries. Lily was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she tragically passed away in the arms of her parents.

“It was the sweetest thing, you know, they took all her equipment off so mom and dad could really hold her like a baby and they cried and held her when she passed away.” his grandfather, Dan Smith, told him AZ Family.

‘She is a treasure to the family. She’s just a sweet little spit.

Jason Sanchez, 33, has since been arrested and charged with DUI and second-degree murder.

Police said his black Jeep Wrangler did not stop before the collision. His blood alcohol level was 0.111 percent, well above the state limit of 0.08.

Sanchez admitted to having three or four beers at a casino before driving home, according to court documents.

He has been booked into the Pinal County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Lily’s devastated family must now pick up the pieces of their lives after the loss.

‘Dad feels guilty for no reason. It’s not his fault, but they’re struggling,” Smith said.

“Slowly going to bed when Mom comes home from the hospital for the first time and Lily isn’t there, it was a heartbreaking moment.”

He paid tribute to the ‘perfect, loving, kind girl’ and spoke of the bond she shared with her brother.

‘They were very close. “She idolized her brother,” Smith said. “When her brother’s favorite color became red, suddenly her favorite color was red.”

The two children were in the back seat when the driver crashed into the back of their minivan.

Moster immediately ran over to them after the accident and found Lily unconscious, according to Smith.

“We will miss her very much, but she will live with us in our hearts. “They really cling to Luke because that’s what they have left.”

A GoFundMe has been created to help the family manage medical and funeral expenses.
