A documentary about a Premier League star who allegedly led a double life with a second wife he met in Iran has left viewers stunned.
The show tells the story of Jlloyd Samuel, who played for Aston Villa and Bolton in the Premier League in the 2000s before leaving for Iran.
Samuel also had loan spells at Gillingham and Cardiff, and when he returned from Iran, he joined Egerton as player-manager.
However, he died in May 2018, aged 37, when his Range Rover collided with a van after dropping his children off at school.
His life and death were recorded in the 2022 ITV documentary ‘The Footballer, His Wife, and the Crash’, and landed on Netflix a few days ago.

Fans were left stunned by the revelations in the documentary, which originally aired on ITV in 2022.
In the documentary, his ex-wife Emma Pritchard claims that Samuel had ‘another life’ in Iran with a second wife, whom he converted to Islam to marry.
‘I was trying to mourn my husband and find out that he has another life. Who is my husband? Do I really know him? she said.
Pritchard had even met the other women on a trip to Dubai, but she had presented herself as a fortune teller.
This second wife was the singer Helia Sahimi, who once called Samuel “the best husband she could have asked for.”
Emma, mother of Samuel’s three children, was said to have been left shocked after finding out about their relationship.
‘That Jlloyd Samuel Netflix documentary was crazy!’ wrote a user on X.
“Jlloyd Samuel is no longer here to answer so many questions… it’s a crazy situation,” one said.
“This Jlloyd Samuel documentary on Netflix quickly gets weird and then gets even weirder,” one commented.
