The 53-year-old spent months embarking on a grueling recovery process after the incident, which occurred on New Year’s Day 2023.

He mounted his return with a new season of his series Mayor Of Kingstown, which is scheduled to premiere on Sunday.

Now, he’s taken on a role in the third film in Rian Johnson’s acclaimed Knives Out franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Each film stars Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc, with a new murder and a new cast of suspects in each installment of the film series.

The news of Jeremy’s casting comes just one day after it was revealed that Scandal star Kerry Washington will also appear in the third film.

The Crown actor Josh O’Connor, Priscilla star Cailee Spaeny, Fleabag alum Andrew Scott and legendary actress Glenn Close are also attached to the project.

Rian Johnson, who writes and directs all of the Knives Out films, announced last week that he was “about to go into production” on the third feature.

Although he hasn’t revealed an exact release date, he revealed on X, formerly Twitter, that the film will be released sometime in 2025.

“I love everything about crime novels, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is,” he wrote. “There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and exploring that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc films.”

The first Knives Out film was released in 2019, starring Daniel amid a brilliant cast that included Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Molly Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield and the late Christopher Plummer.

Daniel returned to the franchise with the 2022 Netflix release Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which features a whole new range of supporting players.

Glass Onion featured names like Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline and Kathryn Hahn.

Jeremy hasn’t starred in a movie since 2019, when he played his role as Marvel Hawkeye in Avengers: Endgame and had a voice role in the animated film Arctic Dogs.

Since then, he has landed several television roles, including the series Hawkeye on Disney+ and his acclaimed role in Mayor Of Kingstown.

However, his career was dramatically interrupted on the first day of 2023 when he suffered a terrible accident that almost cost him his life.

The Hurt Locker star was crushed by a 14,330-pound snowplow while trying to stop it from running over his nephew in rural Nevada.

He suffered a wide range of serious injuries, including more than 30 broken bones, and later revealed that his eye even popped out.

Jeremy embarked on a grueling, months-long recovery process, which he documented on social media to the amazement of his followers.

“Body is miraculous,” he wrote in the caption of a workout video. ‘Although I feel like the Tin Man and need oil for all my new joints (hips, knees, ankles, tibia, etc.). After this warm-up, I was encouraged to keep going (don’t tell my physiotherapist).’
