Jeremy Renner has admitted he felt “a little unsafe” returning to work earlier this year after a horror snowplow accident on January 1, 2023 that nearly killed him.
The 53-year-old actor spent a lot of time recovering from the ‘near-death experience’, in which he was hospitalized after suffering blunt force trauma to the chest and 30 broken bones, and has since returned to work filming season 3 from the Paramount+ series. Kingstown Mayor.
Appearing on Good Morning America on Wednesday, Jeremy said, “I feel great.” I feel pretty strong. Starting this year’s season at the beginning of the year was a little risky strength-wise, but by the end, you’re usually pretty beat up energy-wise, but I feel pretty strong.
When asked by GMA host George Stephanopoulos if it was “resistance or strength,” Jeremy responded, “It’s both.” The stamina wasn’t great, but now I’m better on both ends. “I feel very, very strong and very, very happy.”
Speaking about returning to work, the actor explained: “I had to cross the threshold of ‘do I want to tell fictional stories?’ I’m worried about real life, putting one foot in front of the other to walk, right? So once I I crossed that… the production was really great.

The Hollywood actor was hospitalized on New Year’s Day 2023 after suffering blunt trauma to the chest and 30 broken bones.
‘I had to lean on the cast and crew physically and emotionally to get through the days. They made up for it with programming and stuff, so I could get stronger.
“I think what happened was we just changed our mindset about the whole thing. I didn’t go to Pittsburgh to film Mayor of Kingstown, I went to recover and Kingstown was there for me,” the father of one added.
The Captain America: Civil War actor also confirmed that he is working on a book in which he will talk about the accident that occurred at his home in Reno, Nevada.
“It’s quite healing (and) cathartic for me, things to unravel throughout the near-death experience, and life and death, and everything related to recovery and what is learned throughout that process” , he said of his upcoming memoir.
‘Every time I talk to people about this, I always learn something more. So I’m putting all this together in a book and I hope to finish it this year.’
The actor has also returned to running and revealed that when it comes to exercising again, ‘it’s just about setting intentions and setting goals.’
‘Trying to run like that is just agility. Movement is very important to me in my life,” he told George, Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan.
