Video footage has shown that the roof of the away dressing room at Old Trafford was leaking after heavy rain hit Manchester on Sunday night.
Towards the end of Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to title-chasing Arsenal, a storm flooded the 114-year-old stadium.
Water could be seen cascading from one corner of the floor, while videos on social media showed flooding beneath the seats.
Videos on social media also show that the downpour even reached the Arsenal dressing room, with images showing heavy leaks from the ceiling.
Fortunately, Mikel Arteta’s men had already secured a big victory and the leak in the roof probably wouldn’t have dampened their joy.

The leaking roof probably wouldn’t have affected Arsenal’s mood after a big win.
United said 1.6 inches of rain fell in two hours after the final whistle, more than in the entire month of May last year, but supporters of both clubs left the stadium safely.
The deluge coincided with the visit of Labor Party leader and Arsenal season ticket fan Sir Keir Starmer as a guest of Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham, who previously met Lord Coe and United’s minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, to discuss the future of Old Trafford. .
Coe is the head of the working group driving plans to regenerate the stadium and its surroundings.
United back Ratcliffe’s vision of razing Old Trafford and building a “Wembley of the North” at a cost of up to £2bn, but will consider renovating the existing stadium if it is not feasible.
Ratcliffe pledged £237m to improve Old Trafford as part of his £1.3bn investment in United, but Sunday’s flooding was a reminder that much more will be needed to close the gaps.
Fans had to quickly leave the affected areas when storms began towards the end of their 1-0 loss to Arsenal.
Spectators were shocked when rainwater came through Old Trafford’s leaking roof on Sunday night.
On the field, it was United’s 14th defeat in a dismal Premier League campaign in which they currently sit in eighth place.
Leandro Trossard’s 20th-minute goal made the difference and the Red Devils’ European hopes faded.
Ten Hag’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways when they return to Old Trafford on Wednesday to take on Newcastle.
