Jennifer Lopez is being accused of being rude and dismissive to a journalist at Monday’s Met Gala, where she served as co-chair of the annual fashion event.
On Wednesday, USA Today reporter Anika Reed shared a Tik Tok video of the 54-year-old woman giving him a very brief answer to his question: “Who are you dressing up with tonight?”
‘Schiaparelli,’ she responded as she walked up the famous Met Gala stairs, where more than 20 journalists on both sides of the carpet shouted at her.
Social media users were quick to criticize the Let’s Get Loud hitmaker for speaking to the journalist as if she were a “peasant.”

“The look up and down is crazy,” one TikTok user wrote beneath the video.
Another sarcastically commented: “Social media users were quick to criticize the Let’s Get Loud hitmaker for speaking to the journalist as if she were a ‘peasant’.”
‘His kindness radiates through the screen. I’m dead,’ joked a third.
“Wow, why does he have that attitude?” asked a fourth.
Others joked that Lopez looked like a “ray of sunshine” and a “bundle of joy.”
“That’s our humble Jenny from the Block,” another joked, nodding to the mother-of-two’s 2002 hit, in which she sings about how she’ll never forget her roots despite her fame and wealth.
Reed, the reporter, mocked the fleeting interaction in her caption as she wrote that Lopez “briefly told her” about her custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress, designed by Daniel Roseberry.
López’s brief response may have been factored in by her concentration on trying to climb the stairs in her restrictive dress, the making of which “required more than 2.5 million silver beads and 800 hours of hand embroidery,” according to Glamor.

She accessorized a silver statement necklace with a matching diamond bracelet and a massive ring, all from Tiffany & Co.
For the occasion, Lopez threw her brunette locks into a sleek bun to show off her statement diamond earrings.
Additionally, the star, who sported a pair of strappy platform stilettos, carried a gold Tyler Ellis clutch.
For makeup, the Marry Me star opted for a flattering monochrome brown makeup look with full, dramatic lashes.

She topped it all off with a bright pink blush and a glossy nude lip.
Lopez served as co-chair of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit, alongside Zendaya, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth, as well as Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
Her husband did not attend the Met Gala because he was busy filming The Accountant 2, a sequel to his 2016 action thriller, in Los Angeles.
After the Met Gala, she embarked on a trip to Paris with her friend Loren Ridinger.
