Tensor Cores are not only good at anti-aliasing, they are also spectacular in increasing resolution, also called super sampling.
Nvidia in fact introduces a new version of the graphics option known as Deep Learning Super Sampling. Nvidia calls it a breakthrough in the generation of high quality images, just like the technique super-samples and anti-aliases simultaneously.
At the RTX launch event we saw demo's Epic Infiltrator, in which a DLSS 2X version of the experience on an Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti was able to match the quality of the 64x super sampled render with temporary anti-aliasing generated by an Nvidia GTX 1080.
Now, that is not really a fair fight, the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti would have been a better match, but it is nevertheless impressive. 64x super sampling, which requires 64 times a pixel to be duplicated and slightly shifted for a larger image.
Meanwhile, Nvidia tells us that DLSS 2X can produce sharper images than TAA could, which we can confirm in our demo experience.
