More than 85,000 high chairs sold at retailers including Target and Toys ‘R’ Us have been recalled amid reports of around 20 falls.

Toy and crib company TOMY International is recalling its Boon Flair and Flair Elite high chair models because the bolts used to secure the seat to the base can loosen, creating a tripping hazard.

Some 83,000 affected models have been sold in the United States and another 2,850 in Canada, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The company said it is aware of two dozen cases involving falls resulting in 11 injuries, such as bruises and scratches.

The company is now offering parents a free repair kit containing the correct nuts and bolts, which can be ordered from the TOMY website, as federal regulators recommend that parents stop using the chairs immediately.

The Flair Elite high chairs were sold for around $380 between 2008 and 2009, while the Boon Flair models cost between $230 and $250 and were sold at retail from January 2008 to February 2017.

Families can check if their high chair is an affected model on the TOMY website.
