60-person brawl Carnival Cruise ship dance floor that lasted for an HOUR began with cheating lover
More details have been revealed about the cause of a brawl between dozens of passengers aboard a cruise ship returning to New York.
A travel agent who witnessed the altercation said: Fox news that the blow started over allegations of cheating – in particular an alleged threesome between passengers who then upset their respective partners.
Video of the brawl showed a chaotic scene as between 40 and 60 passengers started punching and pushing each other.
Although the initial disagreement between two passengers was on the dance floor of the nightclub, things quickly spiraled out of control with more and more people piling up.
The battle took place on the final night of the ship’s eight-day Caribbean cruise that includes stops in Dominicana, Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas.
Theresa James said the fight started just before 2 a.m. and lasted about an hour in an area where the ship’s nightclub and casino were located.
Bottles were smashed and a woman was also slashed in the melee, although no serious injuries were reported.
The fight eventually moved around the ship from the fifth floor to the first floor as a few ship guards tried to end the fight where they could, but they were vastly outnumbered.
It prompted the Coast Guard to escort the ship back to port and the NYPD to open a probe.
A massive brawl broke out early Tuesday on the Carnival Magic off the coast of New York as it was wrapping up its eight-day Caribbean cruise when the fight broke out at the ship’s nightclub.
It has emerged that the brawl was caused after some passengers engaged in a threesome, which then infuriated their significant others, leading to about 40 to 60 people getting involved in the punch-up.
A major brawl broke out at the Carnival Magic’s nightclub at about 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, on the final night of the ship’s eight-day Caribbean cruise.

James explained how the guests involved in the fight were, in her words, “ignorant fools acting stupid.”
She praised the security team for jumping right in the middle of the brawl and eventually calming things down.
A witness, twittering under the handle @nyeem0said he was ‘siting at the bar listening to my own music, sipping a Shirley Temple, and then the brawl broke out out of the blue!’
He added that some passengers were “injured and cut from glass” and that “most if not all” of the ship’s guards came to the club to restore order.
The witness added: ‘It was the last night so I think they wanted to go out with a bang, but a lifetime ban on cruising is wild lol.’
The brawl took place as the ship approached New York harbor, but it’s unclear whether the ship was in New York, New Jersey or international waters at the time of the battle, obscuring criminal jurisdiction issues.
No arrests were reported in the aftermath of the fight and it was unclear which agency would lead the investigation.
After the battle, cruise line officials notified the Coast Guard, which launched a boat from Staten Island to escort it to Manhattan, according to WNBC TV†
