The bad news continues for the San Francisco 49ers, as star wide receiver Deebo Samuel is currently hospitalized with pneumonia and “fluid in his lungs,” according to the team’s head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Samuel played through an illness Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch.
Now, his condition has worsened, as there is no timetable for his return, according to Shanahan.
Samuel is one half of one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL alongside Brandon Aiyuk.
Now, San Francisco will be without both wide receivers, as Aiyuk tore his ACL on Sunday and will not return this season.

Samuel has spent his entire professional career with the 49ers after a stellar college career with South Carolina.
The 28-year-old has carved out a unique role in the NFL with his strong presence in both receiving and running the ball.
The 49ers began the season as one of the NFC favorites to return to the Super Bowl.
Seven weeks into the NFL season and several teams appear to be better positioned to make the playoffs than the defending NFC champions, who are 3-4.
The Packers, Lions, Vikings and Commanders have looked dominant this season in a way that the 49ers have not.
San Francisco has another tough test Sunday night, facing an old rival, the Dallas Cowboys.
