4,000 passengers were stranded aboard ANOTHER cruise ship while one person was being tested for corona virus
Up to 4,000 passengers have been stranded aboard another cruise ship off the coast of California while waiting for the outcome of a coronavirus test on a sick passenger.
The Carnival Panorama cruise ship is docked in Long Beach and passengers are ordered to stay on the boat while the woman, whose age is unknown, is being tested for the deadly disease.
If the case is confirmed, it will be the last in a series of outbreaks aboard cruise ships, which quickly become hotbeds for the virus.
At least 21 people on the Grand Princess cruise ship off the coast of California have so far tested positive for corona virus.

This followed a massive outbreak aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship last month, in which 700 people were infected and six people died because it quickly became a hive of disease off the coast of Japan.
The carnival panorama remained docked on Saturday evening after the guest was identified as a potential coronavirus affair that morning was transported from the ship to a local hospital for testing.
The Centers for Disease Control ordered that all passengers remain on the ship awaiting the results of the test.
The ship will not sail until the results come back and confirm a negative test.
Plans have not been revealed for the possible scenario that a positive test is returned.

Kate Kuykendall, a spokesperson for the Long Beach Joint Information Center, confirmed that the female guest was being tested, but maintained that there were no confirmed cases in Long Beach or on the cruise ship.
“We want residents to know that we care about our residents and visitors, and those who live and work in the city of Long Beach,” she said.
“Our primary concern is for all parties involved and maintaining public safety.”
Matt Mitcham, cruise director for Carnival Panorama, issued a statement on Facebook to suppress fears and said that testing was only done “out of an abundance of caution.”
He said the ship would be held in Long Beach until “at least 6:00 PM PST related to a medical situation with one of our disembarking guests.”
Mitcham said the company “cannot discuss their specific situation,” but confirmed that the guest was a US citizen who had not recently traveled internationally and does not meet the CDC criteria that place them in a coronavirus risk category.

LARGE PRINCESS CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS STILL IN LIMBO
When news of the latest cruise ship off the California coast surfaced on Saturday, family members of the 3,500 passengers aboard the coronavirus hit Grand Princess begged for their loved ones to be evacuated before they became seriously ill.
At least 21 people at the Grand Princess have contracted Covid-19 – a little less than half the number of people tested. The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, now refuses to allow the ship to dock in San Francisco.
On Saturday, the daughter of a 90-year-old passenger said that her father’s health was deteriorating rapidly because he was stuck on the cruise ship.
“Keeping people on board will be a death sentence for many older passengers,” panicked Lisa Egan told The Telegraph.

“He has to take different medications every day, and he will run out today [Saturday]. I am sure that applies to many passengers.
John Miller, who is aboard the Grand Princess, told ABC7 Saturday that news that it was forbidden for the Grand Princess to dock in San Francisco was “the worst” he could have heard.
At night the captain of the ship announced that the coast guard would arrive a passenger who needed “medical assistance” to the mainland.
Shortly thereafter, a helicopter arrived with the unidentified person for treatment to San Francisco, according to CNN. It is unclear whether the person was one of the 21 who tested positive for the corona virus.
The Grand Princess came closer to the land at night and now floats about 20 miles off the coast of San Francisco – but there are no details as to where or when the ship will dock.
An epidemiologist studying the spread of virus particles says that holding passengers on the ship will increase the infection rate.

MORE THAN 700 CASES AND SIX DEATHS OF CRUISE SHIP OF DIAMOND PRINCESS
In the worst cruise ship crisis to date, 706 people tested positive on the Diamond Princess after the Japanese authorities imposed a two-week lockdown in Yokohama.
At least six people died after being taken to the hospital from the doomed ship.
During the lock-up, passengers were limited to their cabins, but several countries eventually lost their patience with Japan and aired their citizens home.
Japan was widely criticized for handling the ship, with a disease expert who said the quarantine was “completely inadequate” after reviewing the conditions on board.
Kentaro Iwata said the situation on board the ship was worse than outbreaks he had tackled in the past, such as Ebola in Africa and the 2003 SARS crisis in China.
The Kobe University expert in infectious diseases said the conditions on the ship were “completely chaotic” and violated the quarantine rules.
Japan initially seized the ship after a passenger who left the ship in Hong Kong in January was subsequently tested positive.
The Diamond Princess, pictured last month in Yokohama, became one of the world’s largest clusters of coronavirus cases when more than 700 people were infected on board
