Boris Johnson swims early in the morning around an island 200 meters off the coast of Biarritz – and finds a hole in the rock, proving that there is a solution to the impasse of the Brexit
- Boris Johnson threw himself into an early morning swim in the sea in Biarritz today
- It swam 200 meters off the coast and around a rock called La Roche Ronde
- He was protected by French police frogmen in boats and one on a paddleboard
- He said he had a & # 39; giant hole & # 39; had seen in the rock that had positioned itself next to him
- He insisted that the dip reveal a metaphor for Brexit and said to the EU: & # 39; There is a way through, but you cannot find the way if you are just sitting on the beach & # 39;
The prime minister, who swore the Brexit negotiations with & # 39; much oomph & # 39; approach, has made good on its promise today with a sparkling sea swim off the coast of France, which he said he gained insight into a possible UK-EU deal.
Boris Johnson threw himself into the waves of the Bay of Biscay this morning shortly before 7 am.
While the French police were watching wetsuits of nearby motor boats and an officer on a paddleboard kept pace with the British leader, Johnson swam out to the Roche Tour off the coast of Biarritz.
Johnson told ITV News: & # 39; From here you can't say there's a huge hole in that rock. There is a way through. My point for the EU is that there is a way, but you can't find it if you're just sitting on the beach & # 39;

He swam around the access, which is about 200 meters from the beach, and back to the coast accompanied for part of the swimming by the British ambassador in Paris Ed Llewellyn.
Johnson said to ITV: & I'll give you a metaphor. I swam around that rock this morning.
& # 39; From here you cannot say that there is a huge hole in that rock. There is a way through.
& # 39; My point for the EU is that there is a way, but you can't find it if you're just sitting on the beach. & # 39;
He was accompanied by French police officers who accompanied him in the water, as well as on paddle boards and in a boat.
When he later met Donald Trump for breakfast, he joked about how he was guarded with & # 39; special detachments from swimming police & # 39 ;.
Johnson told Donald Tusk this weekend that the UK would leave the EU on October 31
After his morning swim in the sea, Mr. Johnson extended his predicted chances that the UK would reach an EU Brexit deal, saying today that concluding an agreement is now just & # 39; touch and go & # 39; is after he recently described the No Deal as a & # 39; million out of one & # 39; & # 39; opportunity.
He also warned EU President Donald Tusk that Britain will not pay all the £ 39 billion Brexit divorce law if the UK has to leave the block without a deal on October 31, as the two men met for confrontation talks in Biarritz.
The Prime Minister has made it clear to the President of the European Council that Brussels will only receive £ 9 billion – or even only £ 7 billion – if the UK leaves the EU without reaching an agreement on the Halloween deadline.
Johnson said to ITV just before today's meeting: & # 39; If we come out without an agreement, it is certainly true that the £ 39 billion is, strictly speaking, no longer due. & # 39;
Meanwhile, the prime minister told the BBC that it would touch & go & # 39; was whether the UK would leave with a deal and insisted that & # 39; everything depends on our EU friends and partners & # 39; because he also told Sky News that the chances of an agreement are improving. & # 39 ;.
Johnson used the G7 meeting with Mr. Tusk to convince him to support A's planngela Merkel and reluctantly supported by Emmanuel Macron to give the UK 30 days to come up with alternatives to the Irish backstop.
He stressed that the UK will leave the EU on October 31, regardless of the circumstances.
