A caretaker from West Sydney has declared guilty of stealing more than $ 40,000 in jewelry and cash from her terminally ill and disabled patients.
Violeta Hansen is said to have stolen goods, including watches, necklaces, rings and cash from patients in Bexley, Doonside, Wiley Park and Drummoyne for a period of 10 months.
Her patients were left devastated by her theft, with patients and their families saying they treated her like family.

The 46-year-old was arrested in a pawnshop in Blacktown Westfield after the police left her details with store personnel and asked them to contact her when she was seen in the store.
She was known for exchanging her booty for money in various pawnshops in Blacktown, where the staff managed to crack her and keep it on the property before the police arrived.
Hansen pleaded guilty to multiple allegations of stealing real estate at home / house and making a statement that is false / misleading.
& # 39; It is a significant betrayal of trust by a person who is employed to care for the most vulnerable members of our community & # 39 ;, said detective Supt Paul Devaney.
Hansen will be sentenced next month.
