& # 39; I just drop & # 39 ;: Man reveals that he survived the Melbourne night club by playing dead during the attack

A man revealed how he survived the nightclub shooting in Melbourne by playing dead – while watching a security guard in the hall.

Ali Shohani, 26 years old, was at Love Machine nightclub on Sunday morning when he saw the shooter open in the burning drive-by-shooting fire.

The reveler was shot in the arm before he saw a bullet shot, Aaron Khalid Osmani, who later died.

& # 39; He was shot just before me. Aaron looked straight into my face before he fell to the floor, & Shahini told 9News as he smothered the tears.

& # 39; It was like a war zone, I have never experienced this in my life & # 39 ;, he said about the shooting that took place in Prahran around 3:20 pm while standing in line to get to the nightclub.

Shahini fell to the ground after being shot.

& # 39; I thought they would continue shooting, so I just thought I should stay on the ground, & # 39; he said.

After being treated by paramedics on the spot, Shohani drove to the hospital where he underwent surgery to remove a bullet in his arm.

Social media messages from the 28-year-old friends and girlfriend of Richard Arow on Monday afternoon suggested that he had died.

Victoria Police Assistant commissioner Tess Walsh, however, later confirmed that he was still alive, but in a critical condition at the hospital.

& # 39; Innocent people were affected in the most serious way & # 39 ;, she said with reference to Mr. Arow.

The friend Anthony Morello of the Chelsea FC fan wrote on social media: & # 39; Our friend was innocently in the wrong place at the wrong time.

& # 39; Your million-dollar smile and warm energy was so contagious and would illuminate any room you encountered.

& # 39; One of the nicest and most cheerful guys I have met … You will be missed by many and will be remembered forever as someone with a big beautiful heart. & # 39;

Another friend, Pasha Okanlar, accused himself that Mr. Arow was shot because he did not go out with him that night, as he often was.

& # 39; My heart is broken, brother, you were something different, like you were a real brother, a real brother, always kept it real and saved it for one hundred percent & he said.

& # 39; So many tears laughed that we had my brother, we always had each other's backs but on this one time I was not there, look what happened. & # 39;

A third friend, Krystal Jade, wrote: & Your presence was of pure calm and positivity. You really were a respected soul full of kindness at every encounter. & # 39;

Assistant commissioner Walsh said the police were not sure who was responsible for the shooting, but are investigating links with the Middle East and bike gangs.

& # 39; We think this is a fairly specific targeted attack, but we do not understand the motive nor the people involved with it right now & she said.

She said the Love Machine owners were very cooperative and detectives hoped they could view the CCTV from location and nearby for directions.

They would also investigate whether it was linked to other recent underworld-related shootings.

Assistant commissioner Walsh asked everyone with information to contact the police, especially those known to the shooters.

& # 39; If you have a firearm over you, you tend to use them. That's why I advocate family and friends of those involved to provide us with information to help your loved one escalate this, & she said.

Mr. Osmani was remembered as a & # 39; beautiful soul & # 39; loved by everyone and colleagues & # 39; s flooded social media with tribute to the & # 39; kind soul & # 39 ;.

& # 39; My heart is broken … you were the most kind-hearted soul I have met since I started working at Love Machine & # 39 ;, wrote a female employee at the club.

& # 39; You were everything to me. I am broken that you are gone, & another person wrote.

The stolen car was set on fire after the shooting at Wollert in northern Melbourne.

CCTV images show two men after the attack two men running away from the burnt-out escape.

The police are investigating whether the shooting is related to recent extortion attempts by the Comancheros gang, The Age reported.

Gang members have reportedly caused problems at Love Machine and the nearby Lux nightclub, who have the same owner, in recent weeks.

They apparently threatened the staff, refused to pay for drinks and demanded payments from the locations where bikers, strippers and figures from the underworld are known.

Love Machine staff said in a statement on Sunday afternoon: & We are sorry to inform you that Love Machine will not work tonight.

& # 39; The events that took place outside the venue last night have shocked us deeply and we are working closely with the authorities to help us with the ongoing investigation. & # 39;
