A Texas man is in custody after allegedly stabbing his mother when she refused to hand him her wallet, authorities reported. Joseph Anthony Abreu, 35, is accused of forcibly breaking into a Houston home on the afternoon of Saturday, Jan. 4, demanding that his mother hand over her wallet, according to a statement from the Houston Police Department.
When the 58-year-old woman refused to comply, Abreu allegedly attacked her with a knife, police said. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured woman, whose name has not been released, to a hospital. she was reported be in stable condition, according to the statement.
