The exciting trailer for the upcoming post-apocalyptic horror film was released on Tuesday morning, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come in the horror sequel.
However, viewers were horrified by a notable unexpected moment when a clip showing a zombie rising in a field behind Jodie Comer’s character appeared to be that of Cillian’s character Jim.
It was previously speculated that the Irish actor would revive his role as Jim in Danny Boyle’s latest film, however he was expected to return in human form.

‘We see Cillian Murphy’; ‘Is… is that Cillian Murphy?’
‘Cillian Murphy has that creepy vibe perfect for getting an infected person through’
‘It better not be Cillian Murphy emerging from that field. I didn’t think we’d ever get this movie.’
“That’s not Cillian Murphy.”
The film 28 Years Later is the sequel to 28 Days Later 2002 and 28 Weeks Later 2007.
A sequel, 28 Years Later, Part II: The Bone Temple, has already been commissioned and will be directed by The Marvels’ Nia DaCosta.
28 Days Later was a genre-defining film, as it was the first to portray zombies as lightning fast rather than slow and plodding.
The films take place 28 days, weeks and years after the outbreak of a deadly virus in London, infecting everyone and turning them into bloodthirsty killers.

Anthony Dod Mantle will be the cinematographer of 28 Years Later; He and Danny won the Oscar together in 2009 for their work in Slumdog Millionaire.
Anthony was also director of photography on 28 Days Later, as well as Danny’s other films, 127 Hours (2010), Trance (2013), and T2 Trainspotting (2017).
Principal photography on 28 Years Later wrapped in late August, and production has until now kept secret the fact that the film was shot on smartphones, with film staff asked to sign non-disclosure agreements to prevent disclosure of this detail.
But a clue has been online for a few months: A single paparazzi photograph from a portfolio of 150, taken in July, shows Jodie standing near a film camera. It’s attached to a protective cage that holds something that could be an iPhone, a professional camera operator who wasn’t involved in the film told WIRED.
