On Tuesday night, the baseball world stopped and watched as the sport’s biggest stars played in the 94th annual Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Texas. Despite the National League starting Pittsburgh Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes and firing other powerhouse pitchers, the American League was able to do what it has done plenty of times over the past decade and win the game.
Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman recap all the memorable moments from the Midsummer Classic, including Shohei Ohtani’s three-run homer that initially put the NL team on top, Juan Soto clearly having a blast, an impressive performance from Mason Miller and Jarren Duran’s game-winning homer that clinched game MVP honors.
Later in this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake and Jordan recap the highlights of the recently reformatted version of the Home Run Derby, why it was a bit of a disappointment, and wonder if we might see some of baseball’s great home run hitters take part in the event in the future.
