The cause of death for 16 and Pregnant star Sean Garinger has been revealed, nearly five months after he was killed in a horrific ATV accident when he was just 20 years old.
Garinger was seen on season six of the MTV show with his ex Selena Gutierrez, 20, as they welcomed their two children, Dareli, three, and Esmi, one.
He died in an ATV accident on February 28 in Boone, North Carolina, after the vehicle he was driving rolled over in his driveway, leaving Garinger with serious head injuries.
His official cause of death is Blunt force injury to the head according to the Raleigh, North Carolina, medical examiner’s office, TMZ.
The documents reveal that Garinger’s skull was “fractured in several places.”

In March, Garinger’s mother called her late son her “rock” and her “strength” as she confirmed his heartbreaking death.
“There was a big part of my heart that died with my son on Wednesday. He was my only son, my rock, my strength when I had none left,” Mary Hobbs said. Sun.
Garinger had been in front of MTV cameras in the B-part of the show’s sixth season, as Gutierrez was one of five pregnant teens whose motherhood journeys were documented on the show.
Her mother told the US Sun newspaper the circumstances of the tragic accident, in which Garinger’s skull was “crushed.”
Hobbs said: “He was moving (the ATV) from one parking spot to the next so I could back into it. He pulled in front of me to park the ATV and the ground gave way from the rain and mud.”
Hobbs said her son’s head suffered serious injuries when the ATV rolled over.
She added: “I ran to the neighbours to try to get someone to help me take the all-terrain vehicle off him. No one responded. I ran to him. At that moment, I realised he was no longer alive.”
Hobbs said she “lay down next to” her son on the ground before the ambulance arrived at the scene.
“A big part of my heart died with my son on Wednesday. He was my only son, my rock, my strength when I had none left,” she told the outlet.
Garinger had been willing to purchase a vehicle to visit his daughters, who live in Fountain, Colorado, with their mother and grandmother, according to his mother.
Hobbs told the outlet that she and Garinger had visited a car dealership in the hours leading up to the deadly incident and planned to return, but “never returned to the dealership.”
She said her late son “loved to spontaneously hop in the car for a road trip or beach session” and that they “had bonded over music, fast cars, shooting guns and going on new adventures.”
“Sean lit up my world in a way no one else could match. He was my baby, my softie, my heartbeat.”
The all-terrain vehicle landed on top of Garinger after he had gone to move it and veered into an embankment, the sheriff’s office said.
Garinger had been in front of MTV cameras during the show’s sixth season.
Major Kelly Redmon of the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office told the Democrat from Watauga On March 1, Watauga medics and the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fatal crash, identifying Garinger as the victim.
The all-terrain vehicle landed on top of Garinger after he attempted to move it and veered into an embankment, the sheriff’s office told the outlet.
“Our hearts are heavy with the loss suffered by the victim’s family and loved ones,” WCSO said in a news release.
According to an obituary published by Austin & Barnes Funeral HomeGaringer, affectionately known as “Squishy,” was a military son who touched lives across the country.
“He never met a stranger, no matter how old, and was always willing to help. His kind and generous nature endeared him to all who knew him.”
The obituary noted that Garinger “had a passion for living life to the fullest” and that “his adventurous spirit and love of excitement were evident in every aspect of his life.”
‘He enjoyed driving RC cars, skydiving, shark diving, dirt biking, flying his drone, ATV riding, surfing, and spending time in the ocean.’
A memorial service was held Saturday at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
Gutiérrez was one of five pregnant teens whose experiences as mothers were documented in the program.
Garinger had been willing to purchase a vehicle to visit his daughters, who live in Colorado with their mother, according to his mother.
The MTV show described the breakup between Garinger and Gutierrez during her first pregnancy, as she believed he had been unfaithful.
A family source told The US Sun that Garinger and Gutierrez had been separated for more than a year and had recently been romantically involved with other people.
Garinger “visited Selena’s family literally a week before she died because she came to Colorado to visit her daughters,” the source said, adding that Gutierrez “was not in a good place” following her ex’s passing.
Garinger “was doing well” at the time before his death and “wanted to finish school,” with an eye toward a career in welding, the source said.
Garinger is survived by her daughters, Dareli and Esmi, her mother Mary and her sisters Shania, Lydia, Isabella, Ember, Kayden and Casslyn, according to the obituary.
