Or you build your own little world and don’t have to worry about ending up in the nostrils of an alien anyway.

The open-world first-person shooter Atomic Heart is set in an alternate reality where the Soviet Union, through the discovery of a new technology, has become the world’s leading nation and created a technologized utopia. However, suddenly all the robots are going crazy and it’s up to you to find out what it’s all about.
Despite the flat story, which is well staged but extremely boring, the game is quite impressive. Due to the incredibly creative and atmospheric world and the breathtaking graphics, the title creates a good gaming experience. Another strength is the customizable combat system. You can let off steam with a large arsenal of weapons, many different elemental powers and dozens of modifications and thus adapt the fight to your playstyle.

Even if Atomic Heart cannot compete with Bioshock in terms of quality and especially because of its story, its fans should at least take a look. After all, our editor André Baumgartner was able to evoke pleasant memories of his adventures in Rapture for a few moments.
The Russia Controversy
In the run-up to the release, a controversy erupted as to whether Atomic Heart’s development was being partially funded by the Russian state and why the Cyprus-based development team wasn’t speaking out more clearly against the Ukraine war.
