A 12-year-old boy was stabbed in the back inside a Bronx Taco Bell Thursday afternoon, according to police.
The violence broke out at the fast food joint on Westchester Ave. near Simpson St. in Longwood around 1:45 p.m., police said.
A woman who works as a vendor in the area was using the bathroom at the Taco Bell when she heard a fight between about 10 children.
“People were screaming,” said the woman, who only wanted to be identified as Kim. “I came out like, what’s going on? I saw the little boy, he had a knife in his hand. Once she saw blood on the knife, she freaked out.”
The witness saw the boy stabbed with blood dripping from his back.
“I told the kid, ‘Go to the hospital and call your mom!’” Kim recalled. “He was just looking at me like, ‘Oh my God, this is really happening.'”
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital and is in stable condition.
Police said the children were arguing when the suspect, believed to be 13, stabbed the victim and then ran into the Simpson St subway station.
He is still being searched for.
“It’s a shame,” the Taco Bell manager said. “Where are your parents? What happened that the father does not know where they are?
